| Some pics and info about my
'64 Galaxie 500 XL:
|

My Galaxie about 3 years ago out at a friends shop when I was having it rewired. This is before I bought Crites Restorations fiberglass fenders, teardrop hood, and front and rear bumpers. Rims are '75 Ford Elite factory aluminums and they polish up very nicely. Notice that I'm missing a center cap, two of them were taken in the parking lot of the local junior college several years back while I was in class. I managed to find one at Pate Swap Meet a couple years ago so now I'm only missing one.

Rear tires are 275-60-15's. They fill the fenders quite nicely but are a bit of a pain to stuff in there as you have to jack the car fairly high to get them in there.

A pic from when I was putting then engine back together. I pulled the factory intake off and installed a Weiand Stealth and installed a larger cam with an advertised 270/280 durarion with .484/.510 lift on the intake/exhaust. While I had it tore down I powdercoated the pulleys, alternator bracket, thermostat housing, and timing cover. We would have coated the intake too, but unfortunately we were using a small oven and it wouldn't fit! I plan on pulling the intake back off at a later date and having it coated in either clear or aluminum. Even now the engine doesn't have but maybe 1000 miles on it.

Another shot of the 460. This is still before I got the Crites fiberglass pieces.
